Isn’t the entire population of Japan the base of the LDP? It’s been basically 1 party rule for the entirety of post-war Japan. Such a weird „democracy“.

Probably they want her to be harder on immigration than what she is doing currently. Wouldn’t be surprising among japanese in theirs 60s.

Who cares. In a one party system (like in China just with a better and more fancy marketing and some toys that feel democratic) nothing happens, no matter where the numbers are. It‘s just the face that might change someday, but it‘s always the LDP and their dream of restoring the the good old past..
