Well it is our government. They aren’t the brightest when it comes to budgets, ideas or understanding rural Ireland.

Got the leaving cert, finished school. Civil service job. No work experience but given a job to procure software.
Between this and watching prime time last night about 5000000 they squandered on Irish rail, it’s depressing. Why can’t they be competent? Is it cos of all the nepotism?
Nothing like sourcing your cybersecurity from the country actively trying to hack everyone, top work lads.

The government will need to commission an investigation into the matter. It will cost 2 million and the report will be available in 2-3 years.
The link to the Russian element was uncovered by a consortium of news outlets doing an investigation. It doesn’t seem like something that would have been easily spotted. Deutsche Post are among others using it.
It’s the Irish government. They probably mostly use ‚Passw0rd‘ as their password anyway.
