President Donald Trump has accused China and what he described as the U.S. „deep state“ of election interference as he announced the immediate declassification of intelligence documents including FBI files.
Trump has argued for years that U.S. voting systems are vulnerable to fraud and foreign interference, while critics have warned that his claims risk undermining confidence in future elections.
The speech comes just months before the 2026 midterm elections, with Republicans defending their control of Congress and the administration increasing its focus on election policy.
