These ugly af buildings can look very beautiful if you give them to graffiti people, or just some light external renovations.
These buildings look very beautiful to me since my childhood, I love brutalist architecture. A good wash and maybe some minor renovations would be good, but demolishing and replacing them with featureless modern buildings will be a great loss to Yerevan’s unique appearance.
What is Tamanian style? It’s nice that the Soviet government brought him in to plan and all but I don’t see how or why Yerevan should have to adhere to his plans or vision nowadays. Cities change, and Yerevan certainly has from Tamanian’s day.
