      I feel like nothing in this thread is going to clear up if you do not give honest context. The accusations in the letter you shared are legally serious, and if you do not share your honest perspective on how you claim what happened, I don’t think anyone can give you any advice beyond „fucked around and found out“.

      The text here only presents the maximum possible fine you could get for trying to import „illegal“ drugs. And it includes a slap on the wrist, so the important part is on the second page.

      It depends. They are assuming negligence and ignorance, which carries a maximum fine of 12500 Euros at this moment, not malice. I am pretty sure this will be expensive. It seems pretty clearcut. Consult a lawyer if you can and then make use of the opportunity to make a statement.

      Assuming you did try to import this medication. Don’t you have health insurance?

      Stay calm. You have up until now only been informed of the maximum possible fine, which is 12500€.

      I don’t know the drug. How long do 600 pills last? If it’s less than a year,
      – you may not receive anything.

      I’d expect a fine of a couple of hundred euros. Not more.

      It sounds you just have to pay a fine (not 12500€), maybe three digits. Unless you tell them you did it on purpose and will do it again it shouldn’t be too bad

      You imported a drug which is not importable without proper licenses. In this letter they build already the golden bridge – „mangelnde Sorgfalt“ and not a felony.

      It does not come from a judge or a Staatsanwalt – it comes from the health authority of the federal state of hessen.

      What is on the back of the letter? That information is missing. The fine should be in there.

      If there is no judge/Staatsanwalt involved and this letter is a fine – it is important whether it is a Bussgeld of a Ordnungswidrigkeit. In the Ordnungswidrigkeit case pay and forget.

      In the Bussgeld case, read the fine print.

      An Ordnungswidrigkeit means an administrative offence. You will not get a criminal record.

      That being said, since you have mentioned you are a student, I would still seek legal counsel at the local student council (Studierendenwerk).

      In Germany we don’t say „Why did you import drugs which is illegal in almost every western state?“
      We say „Tja, doof gelaufen“

      You might consider posting this on legal advice Germany or whatever the sub is called.

      You should also ask for an appointment at your university. Your Asta and/or Studierendenwerk probably have some sort of legal counsel.

      As this is a Anhörung, they state their legal point of view. You can share your with them, but I’d definitely ask someone with background knowledge.

      There’s a German proverb saying: es wird nichts so heiß gegessen, wie es gekocht wird (nothing is being eaten as hot as it has been cooked), so just try to act smart with your next steps.

      You’re life is not over. But what you’ve done is considered negligent. You will most likely be fined. To keep this fine low and avoid any larger consequences you should get a lawyer.

      Get a lawyer. Respond to them that it was a mistake. Will never happen again. Pay the fine. Max 1000€ unless any other things is involved

      Well it’s just an Ordnungswidrigkeit, no Straftat. So it’s just gonna be a fine and won’t be recorded in your Führungszeugnis. Expect a couple hundred bugs in fine, pay it and go your way

      Stay calm. Your life isn’t over. You’re not going to prison over this, and 600 tablets isn’t an enormous quantity. I know people who got away with something like this without any penalty at all. That said, I’d expect a fine of a few hundred euros. The letter also doesn’t accuse you of acting intentionally, which is probably a good sign for now. I’m not convinced that you necessarily need a lawyer for this.
