      Why did he invite him to dinner in the first place if he didnt know him? It must be nice being so confident or famous that you dont see not actually knowing someone as a barrier for this kind of thing

      Haaland would be getting bombarded with messages. He said he just thought Tom was a random.

      But anyways…I’m actually surprised that Tom retold this story because why on earth would you assume someone wants to meet you just because you are famous?

      If Tom Holland messaged me and wanted to meet I’d say: no thanks? He’s fine I just truly have nothing to say to that man.

      I think Tom Holland is great. But it’s funny that famous people feel like they have access to anyone they don’t know by virtue of also being famous

      It’s honestly a nice feeling to see a celebrity go full fanboy for another celebrity and reach out to invite them to dinner with an assumption that the other celebrity is an equal fanboy, only to be met with the general message, “I don’t even know you bro.”

      See, it’s just weird, even if you’re a global celebrity. Asking for an act of friendship to a stranger because they are a celebrity is not reasonable, even if you are a celebrity.

      So the footballer saw the message. How do these people see a message from the thousands of DM this people receive? Does platforms give more visibility to messages received from people that have more following? Are the dm also curated like news feed for VIP?

      He doesn’t come across as someone who is interested in celebrity, and if you take away Holland’s celebrity then this is just a bit weird. I mean, I don’t go down to watch the local pub teams playing football and then, if I think one player has done well, ask him if he wants to come round mine for pie and chips.

      I’m sure it was well-intentioned, and I’m not saying this as a dig at Tom Holland, but it just seems a bit strange if you really think about it.

      Tom Holland gets way too much publicity relative to the quality of actor he is/movies he’s been in.

      Maybe he’ll start turning the ship with Odyssey?

      I thought Haaland was being a bit meta by saying he didn’t know him because Dr Strange made everyone forget who he was. A bit like people not seeing  John Cena.
