Japans Staatsanwälte stehen wegen verbalen Beschimpfungen, sexueller Gewalt, der Verschleierung von Beweismitteln und der Missachtung ihres Schweigerechts gegen Verdächtige unter Beschuss. Ironischerweise gab es keine Pressekonferenz, um diese Dinge anzusprechen, was bedeutet, dass sie von ihrem eigenen Recht auf Schweigen Gebrauch machen.

Here’s hoping for some real reforms but I’m not going to hold my breath.
Yeah, if you are caught in the Japanese justice system, you are kinda fuc*ed. It is guilty before you, by yourself, being yelled at all day long, deprived of sleep, prove yourself innocent. An innocent person in prison based on forc…, no, coerc… sorry, voluntary confessions is better than have to face, well, no consequences but bad review by your superiors. Oh, and lawyers and translators are not much of any help apparently, in most cases.
Japanese press is such an embarrassment. They are just as guilty as the abusers they allow to exist
The Cardassians are a draconian, fascistic Star Trek race that pride themselves on the fact that their trials have a 99.9% conviction rate. Color me surprised when I watched a Japanese tv show that explores that Japan has a 99.9% conviction rate. Seems like they operate on „guilty until proven otherwise“.
