Those are very wise words. Let’s hope that Ukrainians will follow them.
The head of the Institute of National Memory in question is Oleksandr Alfiorov. Famous for his quotes on the subject:
> The Volhynia tragedy is one of Poland’s state-building myths.
> Can this be called genocide if there are victims on both sides?
And illustrious political and military service history:
> In 2014–2018, he was the press secretary of the far-right politician, People’s Deputy of Ukraine Andrii Biletskyi, and from winter 2014 to June 2015, he was the head of the press service of the Azov Regiment.

Honestly. I don’t care much.
It was over 80 years ago. Time to move on. Bandera/UPA supporters in Ukraine are probably same type of picnic patriots as Polish ‚1944 pamientamy‘ ones.
People without future, living the past they can’t event remember. Silly stuff.
Future and killing Russian soldiers matters way more.
>Ukrainian-Polish conflict
>tragic events in Wołyń 1943
>those who shed their blood
>experience between Poles and Ukrainians
>dramatic and tragic days
>we recognized the mistakes
Nothing has changed since 1992. They will say everything but name the historical truth – genocide of Polish civilians by Ukrainian nationalists. How is this historical revisionism allowed is beyond me.
Too little too late. Fk em.
The commemeration day is held on 11 July because of [Volhynian Bloody Sunday](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volhynian_Bloody_Sunday). And it’s offcial name in Poland is [National Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Genocide of the Citizens of the Second Polish Republic Committed by Ukrainian Nationalists](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Day_of_Remembrance_of_the_Victims_of_the_Genocide_of_the_Citizens_of_the_Polish_Republic_Committed_by_Ukrainian_Nationalists). Notice how the article carefully avoids mentioning any of that, using weasel words like „victims of the Ukrainian-Polish conflict“ instead.
