That last part. My grandparents, whose family lived for centuries in a town some 100 km southwest of modern day Lviv , recalled that in 1944 they were informed by their Ruthenian Eastern Catholic neighbors they should seriously consider fleeing westward because „it the nationalists show up, they will kill you for being ethnic Poles and us for helping you.“
