If they ever find the culprit, that person won’t see much mercy from the courts (here’s hoping)

I travel that area a lot where exactly was it
Even if they find the killer, they will get 12 months maximum.
Hit and runs should be prosecuted as manslaughter or attempted manslaughter depending.

Fuck knows how long that person was alive for, praying that someone would find them. Their poor family.
Roads are bad enough, but the demonising of cyclists on social media, and even traditional media (George Hook started this!) needs addressing.
Only today I read something on a Kildare FB page giving out about a cyclist having the audacity to ride on the road and not on a fenced off cycle lane. This kinda post promotes group think. Social media is rife with it.
The usual „Don’t pay Road tax“, „if a lanes there they shoul use it“, „red light jumpers“ were all on display.
Cyclists being lumped together dehumanises them.
Another poor person has lost their life and it needs to stop.
The amount of vitriol towards cyclists constantly on the radio and social media I’m never surprised by these incidents.
