Mitt Romney has a better understanding of this concept than many Democrats, unfortunately.
I think we need more Republicans like Mitt where we can agree to disagree most of the time, but actually share thoughts to propel the Country forward occasionally. That used to be the shit, America! What the hell happened to you? What happened to compromise and not swinging the pendulum so hard?

I agree with this and would choose the age of 65.
Nobody should be allowed to be in a position of government power past the age of 65.
Why should anyone get to decide laws/policies that impact the masses for many years to come when they won’t be around to live in it?

This is the 2nd thing Romney has said that made absolute sense to me and I hate his guts. The first was that Russia was a bigger threat than we were realizing.
Romney saying this now, after staying quiet when it mattered feels like closing the barn door after the horse is on Truth Social. It’s an obvious dig at Trump but he declined to endorse Harris in 2024, so it’s just another meaningless bit of statesmanship from the sidelines.
Remember when political scandals were just about binders of women and not robbing Americans, raping children, and murdering people for profit?

From a policy standpoint I disagree with Romney on essentially everything. As a person, I do think he actually has morals and some sincere beliefs.

If you’re 65 or older, you should be ineligible to run for public office. You’re in a completely different stage of life and you shouldn’t be making decisions that effect someone’s ability to:
– have a family
– put kids through college
– buy a first home
– save and invest money
– get cheaper healthcare
Or anything else Americans do to try and build a life for themselves.
