Saying it’s „in their blood“ is just as reficulous and ignorant as any stereo type. Civil unrest is pretty universal.

Is the fuel crisis worsening the life of Russian for real for the first time ? For sure.
Is there a chance that the situation degrades in the next weeks ? Yes
But let’s wait and see.

Russia/USSR used way less oil to support much larger population.
You’re looking at it from wrong perspective. Privet use of petrochemicals will be limited but the distribution will be fine.
Plus transport in Russia is still dominated by railways
