    1. I love the GTO series, but the optics of this lmfao.

A TV network that was busted for various cases of sexual harassment/assault, teaming up with 文科省 who has been dealing with a growing number of scandals about teachers abusing, recording and distributing images of child sexual abuse to…

reboot a series about a guy that initially wanted to become a teacher so he could groom an underage school girl to be his wife in hopes of boosting teacher job applications.

Is there? If you look at the applications of each prefecture, the only ones you could say there is are elementary schools. There is a 1.1-2.1 applicants per position, depending on prefecture. JH is higher, SHS ends up at 2.8 or so, highest of the 3. And if you look at the specialized subjects, music has 4 applicants per position / heck, high school English has more applicants than science even, English being 1.4-1.8, science 1.2-1.6.

You‘re writing an exam first. About school law knowledge (there‘s like different law books depending on what part of the school), then specialized knowledge (of which 15q are regular high school level stuff,5 is specialized – except English and music, where 10/20 is specialized).

Then you write an essay about a given topic.

People who pass this go to an interview.

There are more applicants than positions. I think they should rather rethink how they balance the tests. They expect fresh university grads to excel in the high school questions, whereas people with work experience get graded more on the essay.

    3. Ah yes I decided to study cs and go into programming because all those programming anime I watched as a child so this should definitely work, nothing to do with the overtime or low pay

Teacher shortages are a problem everywhere. In my country (UK), the government paid £27,000 tax-free to do a 9-month course (PGCE) to train as a Geography teacher… and they *still* fell short in new teacher numbers this year.

Teaching needs a culture shift. Why should you be expected to put in 1-3 hours of unpaid overtime each day whilst being a de facto social worker AND dealing with harassment and abuse from students/parents/admin as a „normal“ part of the job?

Comes with another free reboot of “let’s not address the core issues”

I hope it’s better than the last version. The actor that played Eikichi put his whole heart into it, it was whoever was in charge of the scripts and filming that really let him down. I feel bad for him cause I liked the energy he brought and he was also a fan of the original 90s live action. So much of a fan that he worked his ass off to get the part, and wasn’t even an actor but a musician.

    7. The pay is crap, the hours are long, the parents are troublesome, and you gotta participate for after school and weekend club activities?

      Right.

I’m kinda surprised they have a teacher shortage, schools are shutting down in Japan fast due to the low birth rate so I figured if anything they’d have to many teachers.

My wife is a teacher in a JHS in Osaka. Before re-airing a series on TV, there are so many basic things they could do/plan, AND THEY’RE SO EASY TO DO, FOR GOD’S SAKE… and I’m not even talking about raising wages…

      -The clubs?

      -The useless BOE or PTA?

      -The useless meetings?

-How teachers have to buy their own school supplies???

-Why are they even cleaning the toilets?

-Why do they have to run after the kids that dont want to stay in classes??

-Why the fuck arent teachers able to say to bullies‘ parents „your kid is an asshole, you seem to be too“???

Im kidding, GTO will solve the problem…

    10. I don’t think watching fro will make anyone wanna be a teacher 😂 who wants to deal with that stress and low pay??
