This is precisely why, as a Californian, I’m looking into getting an earthquake insurance policy, for the first time in years.
The deductibles are so high, my belief had always been that if we had a major enough earthquake to cause damage beyond the policy deductible, we’d be swimming in so much FEMA money that it would make the policy pointless. Now… I’m not so sure.
Wasn’t he the one screaming about Biden when hurricane hit North Carolina and claimed when he is the president he will not reject any help to other states

Just as a reminder, 3,578,899 votes for Trump were tallied in New York State in 2024, and Nassau, Suffolk, Rockland, Putnam and Orange counties all were Trump-majority, as was Staten Island.

Trump and Kushner also withheld PPE to ‚blue‘ states as punishment when the COVID pandemic broke out in spring 2020, after he denied it was real and called it a Dem hoax, then shifted to saying it wasn’t a big deal and it would magically go away, then then blamed it on China.
Simultaneously he and Republicans were selling their stocks and bought their own PPE or had it rerouted to their families and cronies.

Colorado is getting FEMA aid for our wildfires, but only due to the fact that our governor pardoned Tina Peters, an elector denier, who believed our voting machines were rigged against Trump. After she was pardoned, Trump hosted her in the White House where they both proclaimed that Trump really won the 2020 Presidential election.
Prior to the Peters pardon, all federal government assistance to Colorado was halted. Trump acts like a mob boss, not a President.
We can only hope that the Republican voters in that state are able to comprehend what’s happening to them. That’s probably expecting too much of them though.

The President can invite a coup attempt, be found guilty of rape in a court of law, admit to making millions in crypto, sic ICE on not only undocumented immigrants but Americans who protest this thuggery, lose a war in Iran for no reason whatsoever besides the fact that he’s using the war to manipulate the markets, attempt to destroy the 14th Amendment, and oh yeah, withhold disaster aid from states that did not vote for him…AND NOTHING HAPPENS.
I quit my career because a family member needed me to caregive for them 24/7 for years with no respite, my credit tanks because I cannot pay my bills, family member is saved multiple times due to my being there for them quite literally, finally gets a proper diagnosis and help, while I spend over a year „spending down“ to get rid of enough assets legally to allow Medicaid to pay for the family member’s long term care because they existed in this gigantic donut hole where they had too much for help but not enough to afford care, finally the family member gets into long term care paid by Medicaid, I get to restart my own life in my late 40s, fight from entry level all over again to where I was before in the span of two years, and because my credit is still repairing I STILL CANNOT EVEN GET A CAR LOAN AND HAVE TO FUCKING UBER TO WORK AND EVERYWHERE ELSE.
