That facility out in the middle of the desert shows how far Saudi’s willing to go to diversify its export routes. Bypassing Hormuz with pipelines to Gulf terminals makes strategic sense since Iran can rattle that chokepoint whenever tensions spike. Getting neighbors to cooperate when their own flows depend on the same strait is the real hurdle.
