      Maybe the shooting was justified, maybe it wasn’t, but National Guard troops chasing suspects through American streets and killing them should bother the hell out of everyone.

      Trump sent the national guard there on the pretense of preventing violent crime despite clear data showing it has been falling consistently for years.

      MAGA owns this murder. Add it to the list.

      Whether the guardsmen were in the right remains to be seen. The optics are terrible regardless. Multiple guardsmen shooting and killing an American is not a great headline. Why were they deployed there in the first place? They have law enforcement to, you know, enforce the laws.

      This guy is screwed. The military aren’t like the police departments in the US and protect their wrongdoers and the UCMJ is brutal.

      All of this sucks though, a man lost his life and the shooter should have never been there, but everyone’s in this situation for one man’s twisted, fragile ego.

      If the only justification needed for the government to kill you is that you were armed, then you don’t have the right to bear arms.

      US soldiers killing American citizens. Not a great look. Regardless of why they did it, this will lead to more distrust of US service members. I don’t see how anyone can think that’s a good thing.

      And yes, I read the article. The „why“ doesn’t matter. This is bad optics.

      Nothing in this article but he said/gov said stuff. The trump admin has proven itself to be liars. There is no available evidence through body cams or anything. Until proven otherwise no one has any logical reason to assume that they are telling the truth. So for now I’ll assume it’s just more government jackboot thuggery. I would love to be proven wrong but until I see it with my own eyes, I no longer have a reason to trust the word of this federal government

      Lot of details are missing here and with this administration I’m sure whatever doesn’t look good will get buried
