Ich habe kürzlich ein paar Reisen nach Hoosier NF und Daniel Boone NF unternommen und das Ausmaß der Zeckenaktivität war sehr besorgniserregend. Die meiste Zeit meines Lebens habe ich gezeltet und Wälder erkundet und habe noch nie so viele gesehen.
Bitte gehen Sie vorbereitet raus und seien Sie sehr wachsam, überprüfen Sie Ihren Körper (überall) und überprüfen Sie ihn dann mehrmals täglich erneut.
Dieses ständige Bedürfnis, sich dessen bewusst zu sein, verdirbt jedoch den Spaß, dort draußen zu sein. Ich hasse diese kleinen Bastarde.

Permethrin. Treat your clothing and gear with it. Just be very careful applying it as its toxic for cats until dry and if you apply it incorrectly it can be very damaging to the environment.
If i step off the trail for 30 seconds ill get atleast 10. Theyre not really a big deal, just brush them off as you see them and remove them once your out of the tick zone

I went on a couple short overnighter trips to Hoosier last month, I go to those free car camping spots along the forest roads. Within 10 mins of getting out of my vehicle I picked off like 3 or 4 of them. In a CLEARED area with a dirt floor, I dont understand where they come from.
But I agree, they sometimes ruin the outdoors for me as well. I wish I could hike through the woods in shorts and sandals without having to worry about these stupid things hiding in my ass crack and spreading diseases. Hate them so much
Been plucking these off me my whole life. Never had a problem.
