The reality is that they can sue and win, but nothing will happen.

He won’t even pay a woman he was convicted of raping. You think he’ll pay a musician

I think the Trump nonsense was “Freedom 250”. Not America 250. He hijacked the festivities.

    4. Beginning to believe that he is intentionally doing this for 2 reasons:

      1. To identify people and artists to punish
      2. To keep money flowing from the public to lawyers – lost cases still pay lawyers with public dollars in this case, no?

I hope they sue his 🫏 off! Too bad, they won’t ever see a cent of the money, though!

He had a guy singing Ave Maria, which is super weird because Trump isn’t Catholic, but he plays Ave Maria nonstop when he isn’t playing the Gay National Anthem YMCA.

    7. I think it’s time for literally everyone to sue him. He has stolen from all of us.

    8. He had the men and women of our military perform those songs, so if anyone complained, he could accuse them of being “unpatriotic.” Everything he, his administration and the republican office holders do is A) performative and B) strategic. They’re all nihilists who don’t care about anything except $$. There’s no honor among thieves.

(I do, however, feel sorry for the men and women in uniform whom were clearly being used as props for dear leader’s benefit).

    9. I’m looking forward to the day we never have to hear this toddler’s name again

I think he intentionally used the military band for this reason. He can have them play whatever songs they want and if someone sues, he can just say they hate the military.

    11. I tuned in for a few minutes so I could see for myself and thought “what kinda Temu 4th of July is this?” Soldiers singing 80s stadium anthems and the fireworks were an uncoordinated mess.

Trump said it himself – he WANTS A THEM TO SUE, so he can benefit from the press (good or bad).

Fireworks were a bit monochrome, no? I mean a beautiful gold but knowing this July 4 was all about Americans celebrating wtf Trump was celebrating, it tracks. Not American but having experienced the Bicentennial as a kid visiting relatives, the confidence and joy of regular people being American was palpable. I almost get the sense the corruption in the political establishment has reached the tipping point. Man I hope I’m wrong. But then, I hoping I’m wrong robots will come after me eventually.

As long as they’ve paid their ascap and bmi they’re OK using any music in whatever catalog their license is for.

      > BTW the groups Chicago, Journey and Bon Jovi do not approve of Trump using their music.

If those artists haven’t opted their songs out in specific ways from their license then politicians are ok using *all the licensed music in the catalog they paid for* and I’m not seeing anyone asserting that America 250 hasn’t paid their licensing fees. The artists hate it too and always have. There’s not a lot anyone can do about it.
