Ich verfolge schon seit einiger Zeit Aufnahmen von diesem Kampf. Es ist irgendwie wild, dass selbst nach vier Jahren immer noch neue Blickwinkel oder vollständigeres Filmmaterial auftauchen. Ich bin gespannt, ob russische Hubschrauber auch nur annähernd so viele DIRCM hatten wie US-Hubschrauber und ob Leuchtraketen gegen moderne IR-Raketen noch wirksam waren. Es ist auch möglich, dass ukrainische Streitkräfte zu Beginn noch ältere MANPADS verwendeten.
In jedem Fall stellt sich die Frage, ob DIRCM in einem Engagement-Szenario wie diesem überhaupt effektiv ist.

I often think back to the opening weeks/months of the war with an incredibly weird feeling that I can’t quite put into words.
It feels awkward to say given the fact it’s as war, but part of it is, as much as it is possible to, I miss this period of the conflict where each day there was something truly new and exciting about the developments taking place and how unfolding and unpredictable the conflict would become.
In no way is it to diminish the sadness of what was and still is happening, but from a newsworthy/outside perspective, the first 6 months of this conflict was just a fascinating time to witness.
