    1. Notice how the goodly nation of __Æthiopea__ never cove-in to Arabisation!

Another conspicuous example of a staunchly independent nation carving a conspicuous ‚bay‘ in an expansionism would be the goodly nation of __Mongolia__ relative to the goodly nation of __China__ . … _and_ , in moderner times, relative to the goodly nation of __Russia__ . But then _it is_ , sortof, ‚the Switzerland‘ of Central Asia, isn’t it? ^¶

      … & no-doubt others could be thoughten-of.

¶ … which reminds me: the goodly nation of __Switzerland__ relative to the goodly confederation of __The European Union__ .

Also: the goodly province of __Noern-Iron__ relative to the goodly nation of __The Republic of Ireland__ .

Reminder that this Arabic before and after map doesnt mean that people were replaced. Many people especially in africa are just native people speaking arabic. More or less similiar to how Russian is spoken in Ukraine and Belarus but people are still Belarussian and Ukranian.

Clarifying this ‚cause many people lately in internet think this was a complete colonization and replacement

    3. A clear example of colonialism and forced assimilation. One of earliest but perfectly documented.

    4. yeah south of Türkiye speaks arabic, but not iraq completyl,
      another amazing AI map

    5. Why such a big difference between “Today” and “2022” on the sub-Saharan portion?

In 540, and Iraqi and a Moroccan could not understand each other.

      Today, it is the same.

Arabic is no longer A language but a subgroup of language family.

    7. Colonialism: French and English💀☠️😤😡🤬

      Colonialism: Arabs❤️😍

fun fact: the Maltese language spoken in Malta descended from Arabic spoken in Sicily for example the word for god is alla and the word for lent is randan. this means Maltese is the only semitic language in the European union

this [video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PzvT5zGrkYo) show the comparison between Maltese and Arabic

As a Levantine, Alhamdulilah, Arabic is a beautiful language

However, like others said, the populations weren’t ethnically replaced, just Arabized and Islamicized. Arab =/= Arabian. The people who live in these countries are not all the same ethnicity.

And they all show strong continuity with their land, even Modern Egyptians.

Arab expansion is one of history’s great tragedies along with Spanish colonization.

    11. Arabic became the main language spoken in the region of modern-day Israel and Palestine during following the Arab-Muslim conquests of the Levant **in the 630s CE.** 540 is incorrect.

So much culture lost because some guy made up some shit in a cave to fuck kids

    13. Shows you how huge the Arab colonization was back in the day, they assimilated loads of languages and cultures.

This map should include areas where Arabic is a (endangered) minority language:

      – a village in Cyprus

      – several villages / nomad tribes in Central Asia (Northeastern Iran / Uzbekistan / Turkmenistan / Afghanistan)

      – Zanzibar

And where it was formerly spoken:

      – Iberian peninsula: Al-Andalus

      – Sicily

And where its descendent idiom is no longer considered Arabic (by its speakers):

      Maltese Language on Malta

The first map is more accurate. I am Turkish but we have Arabic speaking minority in the south and southeast.
