Going to be a wonderful winter for the muscovian vatniks without gasoline and electricity.
Enjoy the path you have chosen.

The smoke from substation fires is from the oil used inside the transformers to cool them. Most of the time a mineral oil. Other more toxic stuff is also used but banned most places. Ukraine/Russia Im sure have a bunch of the nasty ones aka naphthenic. If its burning like this Im going to get with it was naphthenic.

As an Ukrainian, I have a very good tip to russians about what to do when the enemy bombs the fuck of your power infrastructure.
Use the diesel generators!

In Russia, a substation (known as a *podstantsiya)* is an essential node in the electrical grid used to step up, step down, switch, and regulate voltage. These facilities act as a vital bridge between high-voltage transmission lines from power plants and the lower-voltage distribution networks that supply homes, businesses, and railways across the country.*
Presume the cause was falling debris, or friendly Chechen misfire…

the lyubertsy substation fire is a big deal because it feeds a massive part of the moscow grid and losing it means more than just flickering lights at home. that thick black smoke suggests naphthenic oil which is awful to clean up and a sign these transformers were ancient. the russian civilian filming it probably never thought the war would actually reach their doorstep.

I wonder how bad all this will end up affecting food for the groceries, are they setting aside fuel for food supply chain? When people go hungry that’s when it will get real bad. You think waiting for petrol is bad
