This is possible, with the crazy variations in temperature over the past 24h. We’ve had some in France too past summers.

    2. Tornadoes do happen in Switzerland regularly. There’s a good [overview of the different types by MeteoSwiss in German](https://www.meteoschweiz.admin.ch/ueber-uns/meteoschweiz-blog/de/2023/05/was-ist-ein-tornado.html) but as detailed there, you can have „supercell“ tornadoes which are the classic ones you see in the US where it’s the whole cloud structure that is spinning, but also sprouts developing locally due to drafts, which often happens above lakes and then are called [waterspouts](https://www.meteoswiss.admin.ch/weather/weather-and-climate-from-a-to-z/waterspouts.html)

3 years ago, La Chaux-de-Fonds was hit by a tornado, though the spout was not really visible. https://www.meteosuisse.admin.ch/portrait/meteosuisse-blog/fr/2024/04/caracterisation-orage-devastateur-chaux-de-fonds.html

    3. There’s been a tornado in Ireland ffs .. knowing how our climate has changed over the past 10-15 years I wouldn’t be surprised if Switzerland/East France and West Germany becomes the tornado alley of Europe (I am exaggerating I know but it’s not exactly surprising now with our monsoon seasonality)

    4. I saw one forming the day before yesterday(BL region), but it dissipated within ~5/10 seconds, I guess. So yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised if it really happened somewhere.
