English players don’t really travel huh

I would be curious to also see the line going from the country to its own league. And to see England and Italy included as well.

Surprised Morocco is in the top10.. that’s interesting

Great visualization and idea but in this case it needs some numbers in the countries and league totals.

Very cool! One caveat, which is not your fault is that for Argentina (and Brazil too) many do not play as foreigners in those leagues because they hold dual citizenship. Camoranesi in Italy and Trezeguet in France come to mind as 2 that became world champions with those countries as well. Although Trezeguet’s case is iffy as he was actually born in France to Argentine parents (his dad was playing there) and then moved back to Argentina when young. Same case with Higuain

Nice! On sorting, it makes sense that the countries are sorted by quantity (total players), but would it make sense to sort the feed lines into each league by quantity as well? Or does that just look too chaotic compared to keeping the countries in the same order for each league?

Cool, but Brazilian League should be on top in the place of Italy’s

Great use of the sankey diagram. Too many examples of everything coming from just one source.

Interesting that those countries at the top don’t have much diversity in sports at least at the professional level.

Wonder if Bayern dominating the Bundesliga since 2014 is leading to German born players brought up through German club systems feeling like they need to leave the country to experience club success
