    1. It’s not done yet. The Governor needs to sign it. He better do it if he wants to appeal to moderates.

    2. $10 Josh Shapiro listens to his corporate and foreign bosses and vetoes this bill. Something this unanimous, though? Could be fatal for his career… which may not matter since he is likely making bank from the aforementioned bosses.

Big tech gets tax breaks and when employees are laid off, the unemployment insurance isn’t even enough to live off of.  Time for these robber barons to pay the piper.

When your main argument is „all the money they are gonna bring in“ then why the hell would you give them tax exemptions?

We can already guess an answer i’m sure.

    6. Companies should only get tax breaks if the public gets a shared ownership of the company, said company is not allowed to lay people off, and firing employees is far more difficult than it is right now. Its insane to me how much our taxes go to subsidize companies, or offset their tax breaks, and we get nothing in return for it.

    7. Ban Flock Mass Surveillance Cameras in PA too. They’re using data centers to track Americans.

As a tech worker, this is great — big tech sucks and is just a bunch of soulless ghouls

Companies should only get tax breaks if their employees are doing well enough go not be on gov assistance and the possibility of all of them owning a house. Tax breaks for rich people to get richer while the people making them rich pinch pennies to make ends meet is ridiculous.

    10. Reality is this will drive those companies out of PA as they go to other states with more friendly tax policies. This decision is not in a vacuum. It really depends on if PA wants the tech sector to invest there or not.

I dont disagree with the decision. PA was clearly getting hosed. But I think the governor is also not wrong. Keeping some kind of tax breaks tied to metrics will still incentivize investment. Having no tax incentives makes those companies go to states that have a nicer tax climate. Pa is forced to be competitive or they will lose out in favor of other states.

This is the reality of how this stuff works now, Sadly. States compete for business investment. That investment is not just about one company, but all the ancillary businesses that grow up to support it as well.

Good! Tech companies don’t deserve jack and all. If they can make billions on the dollar then they should be taxed heavily.

    12. Are we going to get a scotus ruling that this is unconstitutional and Pennsylvania now has to give tech companies $1billion in tax breaks?

why the fuck do big techs need tax breaks in the first place? they’re billion dollar companies!

We’ve learned as a society that tax breaks don’t work. They don’t do anything. The only thing they do is benefit the wealthy.

These motherfuckers need to be taxed harder, not less

Good. No corporations should have tax breaks. They should have tax increases to help the country.
