Als ich also in der Psychiatrie landete, wo sich auch Alkoholiker erholten, dachte ich nicht lange nach und nahm dieses unschuldige T-Shirt mit.
Glücklicherweise wurde mir die zweite Bedeutung klar, bevor ich es dort trug.
Gibt es dort noch andere Expats, die einen ähnlichen Fauxpas begangen haben?

A lot of us here will probably share this experience but growing up, during math class, whenever someone would say “eentje” (the number one but small) our teachers would always correct us and say: eendjes swim in the water.

It’s a funny t-shirt with a funny wordplay, don’t think too much of it. I mean, people can get offended by the most mondaine things nowadays.
It could as well mean another day without alcohol, which is a positive thing considering the place you are at now.

I used to ask people “Hoe is het met je wijf?” Because I thought wijf = wife. It was a surprisingly long time before anyone corrected me.
