I just got the text, it’ll cost my family an extra $30 per month. We are all less than happy.

    2. Been with Tmobile.sinve 2001, have a grandfathered family plan. Cheap is the reason I stay, if that goes away then we will.be shopping.

So, you’re saying grandfathered isn’t a legal term that there’s other contractual terms that supersede it and allow them to f*ck you whenever and however they want?

      Makes sense.

      SHAREHOLDER VALUE!!!

      Profits over customers, every time.

    5. T-Mobile is the backbone for so many MVNOs, there’s no reason to actually use them directly anymore. I’ve been on Google Fi for over 10 years now.

    6. Switch carriers

Even the minor carriers may be excellent if you’re near a metro area. Ain’t nobody got time for arbitrary price hikes when there is still actual competition in the cellular space.

    7. It’s have no problem with it except they’re offering no upgrade promotions. In a few months they’ll offer heavy discounts on phones to those who upgrade to a current plan but since I’ll be at the current plan I’ll have no upgrade path. They’ve effectively cost me a couple thousand.

Stopped being loyal to Tmobile years ago. Been getting free iPhones just swapping back and forth.

They raised mine $5 per line two years ago so i moved to ATT out of spite and then a few months later switched to US Mobile and get better service than either for a fraction of the price. Idk what the big carriers are thinking at this point.

This should nullify a contractual obligation and free you from a contract is the other side changes the contractual obligation without your consent.

I’m going to stroll into T-whatever, cancel, and not pay any more than what I owe on my last bill and walk out. If they think I’m paying anything else, I’ll see them in small claims court with my counterclaim.

    11. Yes. NO SHIT.

I and the 5 members of our family plan have been trying to deal with this for over a month.

Our phones just stopped working, and have spent 3 hours on the phone trying to get it resolved. Now they insist we go to a local store to start a new plan. Meanwhile Im nearly 400 back on our bill for a month.

I didnt choose this, nor were any of us properly notified.

EDIT: We were previously with USCellular, and they were apparently bought out a few months ago

Do they not have an ad of two guys proudly singing about how T-Mobile won’t raise your rates? Talk about corporate gaslighting to the highest degree…

Kinda waiting for AT&T to do that to us – when it happens, we’ll move to another carrier, just on principle.

As it is, on the grandfathered unlimited plan, there’s no tethering, so no matter what we do, we will come out ahead.

Yup, I just informed via text they were doing away with my old plan and shafting me into a more expensive one. I’m shopping for a new provider starting this evening, once I’m home from work.

Everyone relax. Creating value for shareholders by driving growth is the only important thing here. They can’t be expected to ride around in last year’s yacht model, you know.

Got the text today and I’m unhappy. I’ve got a business account with 6 lines. I’ve been with them for 18yrs or more and hoping to leverage that into some kind of deal. Feel pretty cheated for staying with their lifetime price now. I might just drop them out of principle, but it’s going to suck transferring all those numbers.

      Just a heads up…

**T-Mobile also made the trump phone and partnered with him to do so**

      Drop them already

I just left T-Mobile after being a customer since 2002. I went with Google Fi, a T-Moble MVNO. Same quality service, lower bill, and better international coverage and roaming data speeds. Looks like I dodged a bullet.

    19. I just signed up for autopay to get a discount, this effectively erases that and is even more now. absolute FUCKERS

    20. Any-Umpire8212 on

Yup. Got my notification, and I’ll be paying $24 more a month, and it comes with a 5 year price guarantee! What they don’t tell you is that that can yank this anytime they want to.

    21. Dabzilla_710_ on

„Your rate on THIS plan will never go up. We are also removing that plan from our service and now ONLY offer these more expensive options. Fuck you.“
