Big loss in my opinion! Too many good nightlife have closed in Dublin in the last years!

Why did they agree to just shut it down after fighting to keep it open?

Reminds me of the attempts to knock The Cobblestone a few years ago and replace it with yet another hotel.

The irony of this practice is if it continues, there won’t be much left for tourists & locals entertainment wise. With each new development, they take away a selling point that the city has to offer.

It seems the hotel industry won’t rest until every pub/restaurant/nightclub has a highrise hotel built in it’s place.

I say this as a man in his late 30s who doesn’t go clubbing:

Seems like they were happy to take a cheque as it was worth more than the nightclub trade. Nightclubs are closing all over the place – is the demand there or is a lot of it people making noise that they want the clubs for when they want to visit them, a handful of times per year.

And another one’s bites the dust. It is a sad indication of licensing laws in Ireland that so that so many night clubs have shut down over the years. This is a country of old people and I don’t even like nightclubs.

They knew when they bought the property and were building the rooms that there was a longstanding late night venue below. Why didn’t they invest in professional sound proofing for those rooms?

Such a shame this is the outcome.

People aren’t going to nightclubs and clubs aren’t making any money off drink cause anyone there is doing drugs. Simple as.
