Dies ist übrigens ein altes Baugebäude. Welche Möglichkeiten habe ich? Ich lüfte die Wohnung die ganze Nacht über mit zwei Ventilatoren. Halten Sie tagsüber alle Jalousien geschlossen. Wtf ist falsch mit dieser Wohnung.
Im Winter ist es das umgekehrte Problem, es ist kalt im Inneren. Muss ich eine Klimaanlage kaufen oder in eine schicke Minergie-Wohnung ausziehen? Die Mieten hier sind lächerlich, Ente!

I live innan old house… over the course of thenlast two weeks the walls became heat batteries. There is not much i can do besides open up everything in the night and try to keep one room as cool as possible with the monoblock ac i have. (I am poor… can’t afford a bigger one and i start to sweat when i think about the power bill.)
Temperature risen from an average 25° up to 30°C over the last weeks.
Only things i see i can do is, hydrate, try to keep my body cool, and keep humidity as low as possible.
And yes i am too dreaming of an affordable appartement with minergie.
Only two more days and i guess the walls will cool down a bit.
Split AC is the only thing that works, but even that is reaching its limit for me during this heatwave. Don’t waste your money on a monoblock AC, they don’t work at all and are super loud.
If it’s any consolation we’re in a new energy-efficient building. Since the outside temperature measured on our balcony hasn’t fallen below 26 in the last week or so, no amount of fans in the windows and keeping everything open at night / closing blinds during the day has kept us under 28/29 degrees inside 🙁
Do not open the windows. You will heat up the air for everyone else. This is the main reason why AC is banned. Good luck. /s
No clue, the only thing I can mention is to point at least one of the fans out of your house, IIRC that’s more efficient because you get the negative pressure inside which pulls in air from the other open windows, other than that? Wet towels is all you got.
I had the same issue with my previous flat. Renovated, 3rd floor under the roof. No good way of airing it during the night plus bad isolation lead to a nice furnace effect. Back then I bought a monoblock AC (mistake) and it basically just moved the heat around without noticable improvement.. I still had 34°+ during the day (that was 3 years ago).
Now I rent in a minergie house, newly built, still under the roof (flat roof). No AC and it’s 29° during the day. It’s better but honestly not by a lot. Even with open windows all night I don’t get the temperature below 24.5°.. (it’s 20-21° during the night).
A friend of mine owns a flat in a minergie building (not top floor) and has chill 23° due to liquid cooling in the floor/ceiling… I’m so damn jealous of him..
There are only 3 ways to go honestly:
1) Buy a split AC.
2) Move.
3) Suffer through it.
Old house, new house, makes no difference. They all heat up like crazy because we have no idea how to build with heat in mind.
Yup. The temperatures will drop tomorrow for most of us and yet our apartments will stay that warm for a couple of days before they cool down as well.
The lack of air flow and most likely the walls storing heat don’t allow a quick reduction of temperature fast enough. Also any sun ray that goes through your window will add up to the heat. Plus don’t forget that devices and people inside also generate heat.

It won’t replace an AC, but it keeps the air feeling much fresher and less stuffy, especially at night. It made a noticeable difference for me. If you’re hitting 31°C indoors regularly though, an AC is probably the real long term solution.

We’re also in a Dachwohnung, in the city, and have seen 32° during the day inside the apartment. We follow the usual „rules“ of night time opening of everything and closing it back up mid-morning. We have fans to help change out the air for theoretically cooler outside air.
I think that the problem this time is that the nighttime temperatures aren’t getting low enough to cool the apartment overnight.

Praying that this week the temps drop. Our apartment is renovated but an old building, stuck at 34⁰c. We’re under the roof with velux windows and no blinds, we’ve actually hooked car window sun shield covers to guide some sun away from the windows 😅 seems to be working relatively well.
AC’s are the only thing that helps. I do have a heat pump with floor heating which I can turn to cooling. I am not sweating at all and in the basement it’s to cold to run barefoot or even naked.
Get a better appartment.
OK, I’m pulling the trigger for a Midea Portasplit. Where’s the cheapest to buy? I have a car so can drive to Germany for cheaper ones, how much does it cost there?
So, open the damn windows…?
My building is a Minergie one built in 2010. It’s been 30° inside while it was 35°. At night with everything open it only cools down to 29°.
