      >**BBC Demands Trump’s Diary and Phone Logs in $10B Court Battle**
      >
      >The BBC has reportedly requested that Trump, 80, hand over his phone records and private schedules from around the time of the Jan. 6 Capitol riots, according to The Telegraph.
      >
      >Trump is suing the British broadcaster, claiming it defamed him by “intentionally, maliciously, and deceptively” editing two parts of his Jan. 6, 2021, speech to make it seem as though he had encouraged his supporters to storm the Capitol. […]
      >
      >According to The Telegraph, which first reported on the Panorama editing controversy, the BBC’s lawyers are seeking the disclosure of a range of documents for the court case, including the president’s telephone logs, calendars, schedules, and diaries from Nov. 3, 2020, to Jan. 20, 2021. […]
      >
      >The subpoena came as the president seeks $10 billion in damages, alleging the BBC program damaged “the value of his brand, properties, and businesses.” The BBC sought evidence to assess the financial impact of the Panorama documentary, which first aired in October 2024.
      >
      >A Financial Times report earlier this month said Trump has not turned over any documentation in his $10 billion lawsuit, while the BBC has produced more than 45,000 documents during discovery.

    2. Do British courts allow for counter suits for filing of frivolous lawsuits?

    3. I like it when the BBC investigates shithousery, they’re always very thorough.

    4. And the word of today is discovery, that’s a big word isn’t it kids! Do you think the president of the United States of America knows such a big word? If you’re not sure what it means go ask your parents unless your name is Barron.

Im glad BBC isn’t backing down from this. Im sure we’re going to see Trump fold and drop the suit.

    6. In the end.. Trump will be takin down by a BBC. 😂 we all knew it would end this way.

    7. Good for the BBC for standing up to the bully. More companies need to do this .. and I’ll try to support those that do and boycott those that grovel and roll over.

      Discovery’s a bitch, ain’t it Donald?

Edit: Doesn’t look like the BBC has filed an Answer to the Complaint in this case, but has filed only a Motion to Dismiss. Therefore, Trump can still voluntarily dismiss his own case just by filing a Notice of Voluntary Dismissal with the court. If he does that, BBC’s right to obtain the requested documents ends. Them’s the rules. I would much rather the case continue and that Trump be ordered to produce the documents, but as a practical matter he would seek and probably get a court order barring disclosure to the public. So what the hell? My bet is that Trump will now dismiss his own case rather than risk having to turn over an account of what he was doing before and during his insurrection on January 6.

BBC said we want *everything*. No settlements, no shortcuts. This is about to be a whole series. 🍿

Weird how no media outlet so far demanded discovery. They could’ve.

Yeah not weird at all, they all bribed him for something or other. Maybe he forgot to give BBC something for the 10B he’s suing.

We as Americans should be embarrassed that, if Trump is ever held to account, it will be foreigners who do it, because our country has lost its way.

    12. This is why none of the lawsuits Trump tries get past the discovery stage…

    13. That case is about to get dropped faster than a potato. I guarantee it. Trump cannot survive any type of viewing behind the curtain.
