I don’t think the average Canadian could recognise it in a police lineup of houses.
Id be happy with this and I like the approach. There’s nothing wrong fixing up something strongly attached to our history.
I’m honestly sick of hearing about it so glad they’re doing it.

They should just do whatever fixes they feel are necessary, and mortgage the costs over 30 years, paid for by the PM’s salary over the next 30 years, no matter who holds the office.
Maybe if Carney didn’t send money to put up bill boards in other countries telling those citizens not to shite on the beach or giving money to other countries to make sure rice grower are gender equal.

This is such vapid Canadian jingoism. Why not tear it down and build new? You can’t see the thing from the street and I seriously doubt I’d be let in to spend the night, so what’s with the „for all Canadians“ crap? I don’t care about a house I can’t even see and why in the hell would I care either way? Does Canada really care at all? I have more important things to do with my time than to worry about the state of a house that is increasingly just a place for an elite working hard to impoverish all of us except a few dozen.
Put them in a tent for all I care.
It needs doing. It’ll suck to see how much of a fucking dogged ass overbudget mess it’ll become but I’m just glad it’s getting the fuck done.
