Wussten Sie, dass es im Süden Brasiliens eine Stadt namens Montenegro gibt?
Der Ursprung ihres Namens hängt nicht wirklich mit dem Land zusammen, aber ähnlich wie das Land erhielt die Stadt ihren Namen von der hügeligen Geographie (ziemlich ungewöhnlich für die Ebenen der Region).
Einen wirklich schönen Überblick über die Stadt (wahrscheinlich den besten) habe ich von meiner Wohnung aus, von der aus ich diese Fotos gemacht habe.

In the US when you tell people you’re from Montenegro, a lot of latin people assume you’re talking about some city in South America, they tend to respond „oh, Colombia?“ Or „oh, you’re Brasileiro?!“… it’s not surprising that there is a „Montenegro“ elsewhere, it’s a combination of two common words.
We call Montenegro „Crna Gora“ in our language.
