Republicans are more likely to see a smile as a play for power, study suggests

Part of the job description, they call it these days.
One might be forgiven for thinking that everything is about power and hierarchy for Republicans.
Everything i ever read about republicans reinforced by beliefs against them. Without fail, every time.
And yet they can’t tell the difference when it comes to their own politicians.
Having seen how viscerally conservatives react to a picture of Obama smiling, this makes sense.
So Republicans view smiles the same way chimpanzees do, basically?
Republicans are more likely to have absolutely zero social intelligence & narcissistic tendencies.
The entire fundamental baseline of right-wing ideology is that everything is a play for authority & influence.
This explains why so many Republicans have such creepy smiles.
They aren’t happy. They are trying to appease.
There’s two things I take away from this. The first, republicans think there’s an evil motive behind everything. Honesty doesn’t exist. Everyone on the “outside” is trying to pervert, destroy, or conquer.
The second, they think this way because it’s how they think. Normal people don’t see someone smile and immediately think ill intentions. The only way you have this belief is if it held by yourself. And based on sadistic policies constantly being enacted by republican politicians and the proven time and time again motto “every accusation is an admission” it’s not hard to see a strong correlation here.
I’ve never thought of a smile as having to do with power.
I know this post probably isn’t long for this sub (and for good reason), but…man. What a profoundly miserable concept it is that one’s first reaction to a smile is social pecking order.
Politicians smile because they want to seem to have deep human emotions and genuine care for their constituents.
Yeah those fellas LOVE their hierarchies for all their talk about small government and freedom.
It also says the younger generations show a higher likelihood to view smiles as hierarchical
Well, I have a question here. I know humans are the only apes that use smiles for happiness. Could this be something related to our evolution or is it more a nurture thing?
Reading the comments here in this post are incredibly disheartening to me. A lot of you have a lot of hate for others you disagree with.
