You honestly think its a coincidence that every presidency for 30 years has enacted new federal holidays? You think its an accident that every 4 years your govt job gets pay raises, more benefits, more days off, more paid vacations? No, govt employees and their imediate families have an insanely high voter turnout rate. You are bought and paid for votes, your job in most cases is nothing more than federal/state welfare to buy votes, because you will inherently vote in your own interest and when the higher ups constantly give you new benefits you want more.

It’s a work phone. Employers can load anything they want on it, it’s their property. That said, Trump is the worst.
Devil’s advocate: they likely don’t have to launch the app and can likely disable its cellular network access and can turn the phone off when they leave the office.
The device is a MDM phone meaning they don’t own the phone, the government does and decides what is allowed on the phone. Based on the article, some of the departments have not pushed it onto their staff.
My work phone bans TikTok and auto installs all M365 apps even though all I need is excel, one drive, share point and outlook. If I delete something unneeded, it’s back at the top of the next hour.
I’m not sure why everyone is acting like this is some major violation of privacy or something. As for the security implications from that third party dev with Russian ties, that’s on the Fed’s if they want to run the risk.

I get the displeasure of trumps garbage but that’s how MDM works for managed mobile devices that employees don’t actually own or have given up control in their own for the privilege of using it for work. This is standard practice for any operation that wants to maintain control of their data on devices that leave physical security controls.
It’s called a mobile device management (MDM) policy. I hate to tell you this, but it’s kinda common on managed or corporate devices….. It’s very much a security measure. Now if it’s being configured and applied properly is and eNtIrElY different story. I’m doubtful the guys configuring it are making the settings in the means of „security.“
