Continuing to stack cards on Tokyo has to be the dumbest thing the government is doing right now. But all anyone wants to talk about is dirty foreigners.

How many people just gave up and are not on the list? I mean, the change you actually get a place are so thin in the middle of school year it’s not really worth it. The strong competition to get in also leads to abusive behavior from nursery schools: some would call work to make sure parents are actually working, and refuse to kids when parents take a paid holiday. Good thing is that it’s cheap, with very generous public aids for parents.
And with the raise of individualism and life expectancy in good health, grand parents do not want to take care of the kids full time. They want to travel, participate activities …
No wonder people don’t have kids: the society is not built for it anymore.
