offenburg seems kind of odd to me when you could simply go a bit more south to freiburg. neither are really in the mountains but freiburg is clearly prettier

    2. Hmm, not sure what your mode of transportation is, but I would either remove Berlin since it seems very out of the way for you itinerary (and instead do Munich or Nuremberg) – or actually see more different sides of Germany, which means including areas like Ruhrpott, again Munich, maybe some Harz cities, some seaside like Hamburg or Rostock, and skip some of the samey BaWü towns.

If you like theme parks you should stop by Phantasialand. It’s in Brühl right next to Cologne and it’s one of the best!

I’d suggest visiting Freiburg and the Bodensee-area while you’re at it. Also, the southern black forest is a beautiful area.

Visit something in the Rheingau area instead of Berlin, way prettier and it gives you a lot more time to explore, since you’re not on the road a full day. You could do that between Cologne and Worms.

Also instead of Offenburg I’d go to Freiburg or something in the actual mountains, Tittisee or Schluchsee oar both beautiful and close to the mountains.

    6. Is your flight going from Berlin or why do you want to go there if most of your destinations are in the southwest?

From cologne to worms you could take a detour through the eifel national park. Really beautiful.

You have 3 weeks. Is this your first time in Germany? If so: take your time to also appreciate the smaller cities, Like Bonn close to Cologne. Instead of Ulm I’d suggest Augsburg (much more to see!), add Munich and maybe Nuremberg. Weimar is definitely worth a trip.
If you’ve never been to Berlin, it sure is a must-see, don’t listen to the nay-sayers!

Do you only want to see cities? I agree with someone else saying that this list is not very diverse. I would do a mix of cities and also small towns (especially if you like local hand crafted stuff). Out of those and maybe in general, Berlin is to me the most exciting place in this list regarding food. You should plan a bit more time there. Points B,C,D wont be really different. Also why are you linited to germany? You could easily fit some netherlands belgium france czechia poland or denmark in with little added miles.

If its about germany i would do ruhrpott, pfalz (weinstrasse), somthing alpine, thüringen, berlin, hamburg probably. This way you get more difference in food and culture and also some smaller towns in

    10. Make sure you stop by Mummelsea on the way through the Black Forest! Cuckoo clocks, sausages, overlooking restaurant, and an enchanted little lake. One of my favorite spots in Baden-Württemberg.

My only experience was around Essen, but I had to laugh initially as an American, the time required for this drive is less than it takes me to drive to my prefered vacation area/beach (going 80 mph most the way)
