Armed escorts are only there to guard all the valuable scrap metal.
What a nightmare he said. Yep, that’s what it has been for Ukrainians for years now. About time you get to experience it.
Even if the Russians do start allocating enough forces to protect the convoy routes, the Ukrainians will just switch to a less protected target somewhere else.
If the Russians had enough men and hardware to protect everything at all times, the war wouldn’t be a stalemate.
Having an armed escort makes the trucks easier to identify as military.
I think shooting a drone out of the air is incredibly difficult. Especially if you’re on the back of a moving truck.
As others have commented, the shooters will just end up as targets themselves. I’m sure we’ll see some videos of that in the next few days.

A single technical to protect it? Also „I hope that wasn’t one of ours“, who else could that truck have possibly belonged to…… Unless he was referring to who’s ordinance hit the truck
The only fuel delivery methods left are rail and plane. Those are pretty easy to shut down. When they run out of most fuel, the electricity goes out. Then so the the Russians. They can drive out now or several weeks, walk out.
