Mittlerweile gibt es in allen Supermärkten biologisch abbaubare Strohhalme. Man benutzt sie, wirft sie weg und nach ein paar Wochen sind sie nicht mehr da. Warum bestehen Geschäfte darauf, diese blöden Papierstrohhalme zu verwenden?
Um den Kaffee auch nach 5 Minuten noch genießen zu können und das Papier nicht durchnässt zu haben, nehme ich den Strohhalm immer wieder aus dem Glas und halte ihn möglichst trocken. Als nächstes müssen wir unsere eigenen Strohhalme tragen.

It’s ironic when big companies still produce millions of plastic bottles yearly, but we’re forced to drink out of paper straws that disintegrate after a few sips.
Why they don’t buy metal straws and wash with the rest of the dishes is beyond me, especially for eating/drinking at the table. Same with plastic satchets for condiments
It’s the tiniest inconvenience, get over it. Plastic straws end up in the sea in great numbers, especially in Malta where you’re never that far from the med. Marine life, micro plastics, blah blah blah, why are we even still having this conversation.
That’s not how „biodegradable“ straws work.

When I am in Asia I always make sure to buy four 500 packs of plastic straws for next to nothing. In this way I will always have a plastic straw
I don’t know, I haven’t used a straw since I was five years old probably. I guess I’ll remember again when I’m 95.
