Claude and Gemini are better choices now, and even willing to use Deepseek instead of Chat GPT.

Before all the „OPENAI BAD!!!“ slop comments, people have to use their brains and realise why Gemini has climbed so much – they literally put it in every Google product, and it’s being used regardless if you want it or not. Literally Google anything and 99% chance it shows a Gemini answer first – this counts towards their usage too.
If they only show the actual Gemini usage, that is users actively opening Gemini, it would be disastrously low.

I forgot they existed a long time ago. I bounce between Claude Grok and Gemini.

Because ChatGPT sucks.
It can’t do basic math
It can’t hold threads in long conversations
Claude trounces it on coding and data analysis
Gemini kills it for creative applications
Both are better for research
OpenAI is busy snatching defeat from the jaws of victory

I’ve been saying for months they’re the MySpace of AI, with Anthropic so far being the Facebook. GPT Image 2 is great but it came way too late for them.

I was listening to a podcast on a car trip and an economist was saying the easiest thing China could do to weaken the US was allow free use of their AI and open source it. 40% of the value of the S and P 500 is being propped up by this sector it’s a bubble that if would be catostrophic I’d it collapsed .

I’m still using GPT in my daily use, the only reason I haven’t switched to Claude was the usage limits. I don’t want to hit a brick wall and be told to come back tomorrow or in a few hours

I would think market share is more impacted by the promise of the future tech. Sure more people using it helps but we’ve seen with Tesla, it was super over valued just because of the promise of future self driving. Whoever makes better and strongest models will have a higher market share

Before we all shit on OpenAI, you have to also analyze that ChatGPT’s market share has fallen partially because the *TAM of users has exploded.* More people than ever are using ChatGPT, but more people than ever are also using AI.
Smaller slice of a much, much larger pie than even 12 months ago.

I have seen ChatGPT come into the work place so quickly the last year with all ages and then almost immediately get killed by Claude just a few months later.

Not surprising really. All AI is inherently flawed but it has its uses provided that you are aware of its limitations.
And in my experience ChatGPT is worse than others, especially since that recent update when it ended up giving clickbaity verbose but formulaic answers to every prompt.
It gets very tiresome very fast, the app’s font is also garbage (yes, font) and it feels very cheap and superficial. The output is also very mediocre.
(Yeah, it’s a bit mediocre with other LLM’s but at least they hide it better.)
ChatGPT is like talking to a teenage Twitter addict who works for Buzzfeed and also hallucinates every now ans then, which may just be a reflection of its training material.

Claude having the highest subscription rate at 13% is surprising too.
It really is gonna be ads and integration with 3rd party sites to get those AIs profitable… joy. As if built-in agents weren’t already annoying enough when shopping online.

“Slips below” is such bad framing here
The market is broadening and diluting, it’s not that fewer people are using ChatGPT, there are also just more people using other chat bots.
And screw them

ChatGPT feels sub optimal to Gemini and Claude. Claude handles complex things really well and Gemini does all the easy “make me a grocery list under $150 with recipes for the week” type stuff better than chatGPT.
With all that being said I do use local AI for about 80% and 20% frontiers models if I need actual hard stuff done.
