We had a family from Az living in front of us in Moscow back in the days. They left Baku by „limit“ for Moscow while my family fled Artsakh during clashes in Skhnakh(Shushi). My parents were in good relations even though my father was a military and took part in 1st Karabakh war and took part in liberation of Shushi. We were raised as friends , my sister and their daughter were good fellas just like i was ok with their son. After30+ years I left Moscow to join volunteers in Artsakh war of 2020 and later I found out that their son did the same.
Such an irony.
Any conclusions to what was written above? I guess No.
When your blood calls you, you follow or you dont feel it. And it is totally ok. Everyone makes his own decisions.

Slightly unrelated question. Are Azerbeijanis an ethnicity or *nationals* of Azerbaijan. Also, when did this ethnicity begin?

Sidenote: her patrimonial is Khalitovna (Халитовна) – Khalit doesn’t sound Armenian to me (maybe Arabic?) but I may be wrong. If it is not an Armenian first name, perhaps her father was only partially Armenian or she went by her mother’s name, who knows. Not that this matters, just making an observation.

As an Azerbaijani, I will not say anything political or meaningless.We have become victims of a historical game that we did not cause.I will just ask that we understand each other.I hope the place of these people will be heaven.Maybe they were not destined to be happy.Perhaps these misunderstandings throughout history haunt us everywhere.I offer my condolences to both sides.I hope that their spirit of loving each other despite everything will be carried by the baby left behind.🙏🏽
