>Korea Airports Corporation confirmed that IVE Jang Wonyoung’s identity verification process at Gimpo International Airport was carried out properly and in accordance with official security regulations.
>
>They added that there were no procedural issues during the check, and that staff applied standard guidelines for passport verification.
>Looking at the video, didn’t Jang Wonyoung take off her mask twice? There is no need to remove her hat completely either. It is sufficient for the staff member to determine the person and passport match.
>On June 15, it was confirmed that a complaint was submitted to the Security Management Division of Gimpo Airport’s operations unit under the Korea Airports Corporation. The complainant is calling for clearer, more detailed guidelines on identity checks at international departure gates, specifically asking whether passengers are required to remove items such as masks, hats, and sunglasses during the verification process.
>
>The complaint argues that if such procedures are mandatory, they should be clearly outlined and easily accessible to the public, rather than communicated only through on-site staff instructions. It also questions whether the same standards are consistently applied across all airports managed by the Korea Airports Corporation.
>
>Jang Wonyoung is not the subject of the complaint itself, but she is the reason it was triggered in the first place. The filing stems from a short video of her going through an identity check at Gimpo Airport, where she followed staff instructions to adjust her mask and hat so her passport photo could be verified.

People have way too much time on their hands. Asking airports to modify their policies because people hate Wonyoung?

People have way too much time on their hands and hatred in their hearts if they’re going out of their way to file complaints over such an innocuous video.

I don’t understand why these companies give these complaints responses. What happens now besides bringing more attention to a topic that lasted one afternoon on twitter?

Jobless behavior. I don’t understand why the KAC even entertained the report.

feel bad for the airport worker who is getting scrutinized for just doing her job.
i actually think its very cool that KAC even came out to confirm the employee took the right actions and essentially had her back despite the online criticism.

The thing is if she properly revealed her “whole” face to identify herself like any normal passengers, the staff wouldn’t have to ask her to pull her mask down 2 more times, and the netizens won’t go crazy over this thing, and KAC wouldn’t have to response to this crap, and that staff’s work duty wouldn’t be scrutinized and verified.
All she had to do is show her full face to the staff to let staff ID her the first time. It’s really that simple.
