Halfway through the first episode, I was convinced it was the worst show I’d ever watched but somehow, by the end, I didn’t hate it.

      It’s a compromise.

Instead of boycotting the event outright they’ve chosen to instead insult it with these two.

Do you want a Ryan tubridy type? Nothing wrong with this, give them a chance

I don’t mind it, I wouldn’t even call it a recap show as they spend maybe 2 minutes of it showing the games. It’s just a bit of light entertainment that seems to be very cheap to make, with a few actors/comedians coming on chatting.
They do proper recaps and analysis on the actual WC show so I don’t need it again.
I’d rather this for variety to more Masterchef or wildlife shows to fill air time.

    5. I can’t understand how they thought this was a good alternative to a decent highlights package. Who wants this?

    6. Just listening to today’s show and more proof that Cork people cannot be allowed into positions of power

What type of uncivilized oik calls a sweepstake a „buster“?

Sweeps, draw or at a very large stretch, lucky dip. I’ll even allow Last Man Standing (which is slightly different)

      But _buster_ ?

It’s this a cork thing? A Munster thing?

It’s such a missed opportunity to drive people to the RTE Player. Just do a 30 or 40 minute catch up show, Player exclusive and have it out by 7am so people can watch it before work.

    8. BBC have a 5-8 min highlight show of every game. Just straight to the highlights. Why do they even need the presenters?

The punditry for the World Cup has been shocking. One of them says yesterday “hydration break, let them get a sup of warter…” I’m like “who the fuck is that?”.

Didn’t see any problem with the show, as someone else said it’s just some light entertainment and easy to make. If people are that interested in getting highlights they’re most likely going to just look them up online nowadays anyway on some YouTube channel or sports publication they like.

Haven’t seen this show, but from personal experience of Shane Casey he’s a funny fucker.

An ultra low frills budget podcast-style programme that is, as others have said, slightly better than a repeat of a cookery or property show.

It was two pals winging it for most of the episode and a very unstructured chat with Buzz also thrown in for a bit of glitz and glamour.

The two lads, and the people behind the scenes, might grow into the making of it and the programme might grow on us.

RTE unfortunately, don’t care enough about football to bother making a proper highlights show with pundits etc. Personally I don’t mind the show, it’s an easy enough watch, nothing revolutionary but as others have said, better then the same shows being repeated over and over again instead

Ah it’s not that bad lads, it’s no apres match, but it’s better than some of the stuff out there.
