Nike’s stock has fallen 45% since their* old CEO was rehired 20 months ago. Looks like he’s not done fucking shit up.

separating the art from the artist isn’t that complicated. you can disagree with someone’s views and still respect their talent and work with them professionally

    3. Are you suggesting refusing work for some people for their political beliefs?

Yeah he sucks for this but also good luck finding a Russian who didn’t support the 2014 annexation. Even Navalny did.

    5. I like how word „nazis“ in a modern don’t-hurt-my-feelings world turned into „controversial“.

    6. From the article: “was involved in a controversy over alleged requests for explicit photographs from a minor”.

This should be also a topic to talk about.

Bummer. I liked Nike and bought from them regularly. Welp, plenty of brands out there who are at least discreet if they support genocide.

    8. Stop doing business with Russia. Avoid loser companies like Nike and Pepsi that continue to fund Putin’s war machine.

    9. Nike CEO: How do we rehabilitate our image, after being sullied from that whole „child labor exploitation“ thing?

Nike Employee: How about a collaboration with a Russian who backed an illegal invasion?

      Nike CEO: That’s gold!

      Terrible. Nike.

Nike has unveiled a new sneaker collaboration with Rassvet, a brand founded by Russian designer Gosha Rubchinskiy, who previously [**expressed**](https://x.com/United24media/status/2064399462064070855) support for Russia’s annexation of Crimea and was involved in a controversy over alleged requests for explicit photographs from a minor.

Maybe I will just avoid this specific model of theirs huh. I still like my Nike sneakers. Cheap and reliable and looks good. It never failed me since unless it gets stolen by another human or a street dog takes either of the pair🤣

    12. Its just a shoe design man, im sure a milion other designers are available. Why pick the one pedo nazi dude?

    13. I honestly haven’t bought from Nike in years but now I’ll make a point of not doing.

Nike also has used slave labor for years. Only buy my shoes custom (from third parties) as my weird way to justify it to myself

    15. Well if the teachers of Ontario have taught me anything, this is perfectly okay. Because he’s just someone trying to make money, and like, totally, if he doesn’t do that, that’s wrong. And like, if the money you’re making, like, comes from bad people, like, that’s fine. Because, money is separate from morals and the people inbetween transactions aren’t the ones to be blamed for the actions on either end, like, right? So like, power to the future of our children!
