Stewart has always wanted to be the comics, comic, the darling of the intellectual left so this article is on form for him.
He sounds like a drunk Tony Blair in this particular article, and he’s joining up dots between things that don’t connect, except inside the mind of a certain vintage of left wing UK (over) educated liberal….

that in truth couldn’t give two fucks if Ireland was nuked off the face of planet earth, other than to make a PROFOUND joke about it.

Watching Lee slide further into his bitter, blinkered, persona, has been a sad watch.

Pogrom seems to be the buzz word of the week. It’s been around a long time and I know it’s meaning but feels like I’ve seen it here a lot and in other spaces where it’s not been used at all before?

      >Because when innocent children are burned out of their beds – as the Reform conference star and my ex-fiancee’s cousin Lucy Connolly called for them to be in 2024 – it is not a protest, it is a pogrom

      Well said.

I’m glad that during these troubling and confusing times we have a comic that can stand up and give it to us straight like a pear cider made of 100% pears

Aw fuck.of Stewart Lee and go read before mentioning these things. What.about #irelandsfull and those who came up many a year to stand toe to toe with loyalist racist facists. Its not a northern problem or just a recent problem in the south ffs

I’m a fan but he kept awfully quiet about the whole genocide thing, didn’t he. It’s well known Tommy Robinson is funded by Israel but he wouldn’t dare mention it.

These were a unjustified reaction towards the beheading which was just as bad but should result in justice not pogroms
