R6: Die G7 treffen sich bald in Evian-les-Bains, in Frankreich, direkt vor Lausanne. Dies führte bereits 2003 in Genf zu massiven Protesten, Unruhen, Plünderungen und allgemeinem Vandalismus. Und die Erinnerungen sind hier noch lebendig. Da für Sonntag bereits ein großer Protest geplant ist und sich hier Menschen aus der ganzen Welt versammeln, besteht zumindest die Angst vor einer Wiederholung, vielleicht sogar noch Schlimmerem.
Überall in der Innenstadt ist es heute die gleiche Szene: Hunderte von Lastwagen von Holzverarbeitungsbetrieben oder ähnlichem, die Holz- oder Papptafeln an jedem Laden anbringen, der sich um den Sonntag fürchtet. Ein lautes und konstantes Geräusch von Bohrern und Hämmern. Verwirrte, etwas ängstliche Passanten beim Fotografieren. Und wütende Ladenbesitzer.

Why are they protesting?
can someone explain to me why they need to schedule the G7 in a small town that is surrounded by a lake and mountains and only has like a single road going there from Geneva which in turn gets completely shut down for no fucking reason… can’t they just do it somewhere in the middle of France where there is endless space and they don’t annoy anybody?!

I am sure, politicians will care if you destroy stuff…..
And I am sure it totally helps your case to destroy the neighborhoods where your neighbor and fellow citizens live and destroy their livelyhood.
