While many things change over the course of history, some things stay the same.

      2. Find rich guy
      3. Accuse rich guy of something
      4. Confiscate all the stuff of rich guy
      5. Find new rich guy and repeat process

Happens since ancient times in all cultures all over the world.

I think it will probably stay around in one form or another.

I wonder how oligarks that have supported Putin feel about this. Now it is obvious that he will take everything they own if he gets a chance. I would bet that this is the beginning of the end for him. If these people can’t trust him then he will be gone soon.

    5. “Bloomberg reported that the federal budget subsequently received 220 billion rubles ($3.04 billion) in what officials described as gratuitous contributions following Putin’s annual meeting with leading business executives.”

So is Putin going to slowly go after all the oligarchs (that are left) that swept in and bought up all the state assets at the end of the USSR?

It kind of tracks, really. Everything this guy has worked towards seems to be about restoring the USSR, or at least its former boarders.

It’s almost like Putin is trying to speedrun the complete collapse of the Russian economy.

Nationalization through forced buyouts is unpopular enough already, straight up stealing it and saying „That’s mine now“ is going to start making the banks very nervous about giving out loans or investing in anything.

If we had a competent government that truly represented the interests of the people, there would be a whole lot more of this happening in the US. There is no reason for people like Musk, Gates, Zuckerberg, etc… to have as much as they do when there are people without food, homes and medical care and while we also have our infrastructure (roads, bridges, electrical grids) in such sad shape. We tax property on its estimated value. Why can’t we tax billionaires the same way? We need Taft and Roosevelt to come back and stomp out some monopolies.

    9. So, after the war, the existing oligarchs will invest heavily in moving their assets offshore. I guarantee it!

    10. if Putin had to do this then the writing is on the wall. Slava Ukraini, bitch.

But, but, but Candace Owens told us that everything they tell us about Russia is false, that it is a paradise!!! How are we even supposed to believe this??
