Hallo zusammen, was ist eure Meinung zu diesen Tablets?

    1. Qualität der Tabletten?

    2. Nebenwirkungen?

    1. Wie ist die Qualität der Tabletten?

Are you severely malnourished? If not these pills will not do much. Theoretically, you can overdose on zinc, but 5 mg is not a high dose. Your body will pee out the excess vitamin C.

    2. Quality is ok. Side effects none if following indications.  But if your diet is balanced you don’t need any of that.  Eat fruit.

They’re fine. The DM house brand. I really prefer the Doppelherz brand for the various things I take. If you want to go full lab tested and ‚premium‘ you can order from Sunday Naturals online.

You should get all this stuff from a well rounded diet, generally.

All are acceptable brands. Commonly trusted and quality.

I mean they are probably fine. DM isn’t going to put their name on something that isn’t what it claims to be. Remember though vitamin C is generally not something that you will have a deficit of unless you have a diet completely devoid of fruit and vegetables.
If there is any vitamin that I would recommend if you think you have a vitamin C deficiency, especially in Germany or other northern regions, is D3 and K2 as well as magnesium. That combination taken daily will do a hell of a lot more for your immune system than a vitamin C dump.
The brand I trust in Germany is Doppelherz.

    5. If they are available in a drug store, they’ll probably be fine and will not cause harm.
I’m not sure if they have any significant benefits. It’s not that common to take supplements in Germany, unless your doctor prescribes sth.

Vitamin C won’t hurt you. If you take more than you need, the body will excrete any excess via its urine. If you’re not deficient, it won’t do any wonders in a positive sense either.

There are different types of zinc, you need to check the back for the specific formulation (zinc citrate, zinc bisglycinate and many others) to assess the quality.

I started taking a cheap zinc bisglycinate supplement during Covid times since it was supposed to strengthen your immune system. 5mg is a pretty low and safe dose, so again, it probably won’t hurt you, but don’t expect wonders from it either.

„What they claim“. They are supplements and therefore in Germany, they are only allowed to claim „supports normal immune system function“ like it’s written on the packaging. It’s illegal to claim healing or enhancing effects with supplements.
That out of the way, my personal opinion: as others say, yes you CAN have all your micronutrient needs covered with regular food in this case vitamin C=Fresh fruit but I feel like that requires a spotless by-the-book diet and I don‘t believe that most people achieve that every day of the week, every week of the month and even then it requires much more hassle than just taking a tablet a day. You will have a lot of extremists shouting „supplements can make you superhuman“ and there is „you don’t need a single supplement ever“ and both are obviously wrong. So supplements cannot fix a shitty diet but they can smooth the edges of a realistic, healthy one.
And furthermore, you should compare dosages and prices and check online shops (don’t buy at scammy influencer shops. Supplements are often cheap as chips and influencers try to make you believe they are worth gold)
I personally take 1000mg of vitamin C (some pills with Zinc, idk how much) a few times a week and for example I feel like it fixed my irritated/brittle skin around my fingernails

    8. They are fine, I guess? Probably the same you would buy when the doctor says you have a deficit. Mine actually told I could buy them at the pharmacy or dm, only difference would be the price.

Which leads me to: you shouldn’t take those on your own if you don’t have a deficit. They can actually have some bad side effects if you take them for a long period or on high doses.

I take those if I feel like getting a cold. But honestly Zinkrot is much better (but expensive).

They are dietary supplements. If you take them as instructed, they won’t cause harm. If you have a normal diet and no specific deficiency, you’ll get enough of those in your food. (Especially Vitamin C, which is not only in a lot of fruit and vegetables, but also used as an additive in a lot of food products).

You’ll need about 100mg of Vitamin C and 8-14mg of Zinc per day, maybe some more if you have an infection. Taking in more than your body needs has no positive effects.

On the other hand, these tablets are quite cheap, so if it makes you happy…

There is no question about the quality of the products. But unless you are suffering from an actual deficiency, taking these supplements essentially just results in very expensive urine.

    12. Panzermensch911 on

Unless you have some serious condition that prevents you from absorbing vitamins or other suppments or you have some abnormal needs for them then a normal diet should cover your normal needs.

      Waste of money.

    13. For everybody saying average german eats enough Zink from food if the diet is balanced I recommend to read my little meta-analysis of commonly referenced official german study called „NVS 2“ and understand that most of those studies are full of crap.

      Text attached in comment.

At least they are not overpriced.

Usually you should consider if (and why) you do not get enough nutrients from your diet before you decide that you need supplements. Note that they are very careful with their promises on the package. They just say, „Vitamin C has a role in making your immune system work normally“, not „This will make you get fewer colds“ or something.
