    1. This ai represents Elon Musk vibes-philosophy approach unfortunately: unaccountable and unhinged. Probably needs the most checks and balances from what’s in the market

    2. And yet what will be done? A tersely written letter to Musk that his secretary will just toss in the shredder? Laws have to actually have enforceable penalties AND the will to enforce them otherwise they’re just suggestions.

    3. and these are the bots they want to carve an exception for in the under-16s social media ban bill

This goes well beyond Grok there’s probably thousands of explicit AI services for just this kind of thing, sadly it will probably be impossible to contain

AI is in the wild west era as was the early internet at one time.

Jb was banned just a few years ago. Remember how open that stuff was? The grip on rules and enforcement will close up pretty quick because now we have modes and structural and technical ‚know how‘.

Enjoy your wild west AI now undercover perverts.

    6. it’s insane Musk isn’t in jail and Twitter/Grok dissolved. They produced so much child porn and AI nudes of unconsenting adults and literally nothing has happened.

    7. This is probably an unpopular take, but I think the responsibility lies with the people requesting the deepfakes.

There have been photoshopped nudes on the internet since the nineties, but no one ever claimed Photoshop was responsible. I fully agree that AI should be regulated, but when it comes to creating illegal images I hold the people responsible, not the tool they used.

Anything less than $200 billion dollars in fines and 5 year jail terms for Grok AI execs will be underwhelming.

Ban all Elon Musk products from the country would be the best answer. We’ll likely do nothing though

I responded to a few users but to summarize a few issues here

Anyone who thinks Grok was the only issue is asleep. Even today with vague wording you absolutely can use other platforms (eg Gemini) to create revenge porn and other images

Grok itself may be blocked, but multiple 3rd party apps use Grok so free images are still easy to create despite any alleged lockdowns and paywalls

And this isnt even touching on the much more open „we dont care“ brands; one of the largest based in China but many others operating where laws are loose

AI and image manipulation is out there and noone will ever be able to shut it off at this point

Not unless we all agree to some very aggressive internet censorship laws (and you see how thats going right now)

Best we can do is let law enforcement track people down

    11. I wonder how they came up with the /According to researchers, Grok was at one point generating well over 6,000 [sexualized] images per hour,” he said, adding that “millions” of sexual deepfakes were created./ And how much those researchers drooled into their coffee mugs while working their way through the millions — It takes a lot of time to count up to a million…

    12. Go have a look at the inflatable that was put up in Times Square of a mammarily endowed Elon complete with a ketamine tat and the message „Grok AI creates kiddie porn“.

The only appropriate response for Canada would be to ban Grok and direct the RCMP to investigate with the intent to press charges for the creation of these deepfakes, particularly since some of them are child porn.

But of course since this is a massive company owned by a billionaire…we’re going to get nothing but hand waving.

If this was something being done by a university graduate with a private AI server he’d (rightfully) already be behind bars without parole.

    14. kinda like blaming gun manufacturers for gun violence

boughtting in full effect on this one

rich man invents a child pornography machine and the laws don’t matter.

Ladies and gentlemen, here we have a soon to be 1.75 trillion dollar company and top of the art AI.
