So we can expect Vivaldi drop the extension too? Well they didn’t have a extension store and rely on the Google one so… fk.

    2. I don’t know why they keep creating new articles. They could just use any from the past 10 years.

I’m using Firefox and have been for about twenty years, but I guess it’s just a question of time.

When your product relies on constantly out-tricking and bypassing another piece of code it’s only a question of when the other party gets serious enough about plugging that hole.

    4. If Google wants to make money by any means necessary, perhaps you stop using their shit? Jest a thought.

I’m aware there’s never going to be an alternative to youtube but you can use a different mail service. You can use firefox for now. You can use libre office.

Android market share alone has been getting chunks taken out of it for months since Google firmly announced that they’re locking down the platform, effectively making Android “the green iPhone”.

This doesn’t apply to Ublock Origin Lite? I haven’t had any issues.

    6. Hasn’t this already been ongoing with the switch from manifest 2 to 3? You can just use ublock origin lite, it’s supported on manifest v3

    7. Welcome to firefox, where ublock origin will continue to work perfectly as it always has.

So glad to be on FF since it was called Phoenix.

Which reminds me, I need to send a donation to them. Sadly wont be much since im out of work.

    9. Funny to see all the « who cares » and « everyone on Firefox » comments. Staying here I’d almost believe the constant loss of marketshare for Firefox and its forks is naught but a mere bad dream!

I’ve been using ublock origin lite and never see any ads, works perfectly

    11. I moved back to Firefox a year ago. It took some time to re-adjust but it was worth it.

Im surprised they haven’t tried to sue ad blockers claiming lost revenue.

I use both FF and brave if this hits brave it can go on the trash with the others.

Can we stop reposting this garbage article about MV2? This is old news.

MV3 + uBlock Origin Lite has been out for a long time.

    14. What goes around comes around, so, time for Firefox to take the the lead again?

Instead of Firefox’s AI crap, go with Waterfox. It’s basically Firefox without the AI and has better security AND NOW has an ad blocker built right in! Works just as well as Unlock Origin!!!

    16. And this is exactly why people need to use Firefox more. Firefox is the only popular browser nowadays that is not Chromium based. By using Chomium based browsers, you are giving Google a monopoly on the web. They are then able to use their market share to dictate how the web works.

FF and uBlock Origin on PC, or DuckDuckGo on ‚Droid, never seen an ad on YT let alone anywhere else. Fuck Google.

I don’t care because I don’t even use that shitty browser. I’ve been loyal to Firefox for years.

Do they want nobody to use their browser anymore? Because this is how you get nobody to use your browser anymore…

    20. I had been using Chrome since it launched back in 2008 but their stance on adblockers the past year has made me switch back to Firefox again.

I wouldn’t mind an ad here or there but modern websites are near unusable without ad blockers, so tough shit Chrome.

I do appreciate how Chrome helped push forward web development these past 20ish years, but I can’t let myself be held hostage by it.
