Pretty serious economic growth considering this is COVID.

Russian money, bought by sending NK soldiers into the UKR meat grinder, used to purchase a shirtload of cheap Chinese LEDs. Hopefully it raises the quality of life for the people living there.

North Korea genuinely fascinates me. I am in no way supportive of their government. I truly believe its a tyrannical oppressive regime. But from a cultural and societal perspective it’s truly fascinating. It’s like a time capsule of a 1950s cult of personality, collectivist, authoritarian society. With sprinkles of modern life. I can go down the rabbit hole of watching every Youtube video available on life in the county. One of my favourite channels is one that pirates North Korean state TV. Seeing their programs is such interesting oddity.
I really wish I could just ask life questions with unfiltered responses to different members of society. From teenagers about what its like to grow up there, to a rural farm worker about a day in their life, to a mid level bureaucrat in Pyongyang.
