Just got finished arguing against the idea that the difference between the Alberta separatists and Quebec separatists is that Alberta separatists use blackmail.
And now we see the PQ demand that a national infrastructure project be liquidated and handed over to them as cash to use within Quebec.
>Already promising to stage a referendum on separation, Parti Québécois Leader Paul St-Pierre Plamondon took to social media to reject the project as a costly “fiasco.”
Huh.
As an Albertan, the Canadian government has placated provinces for far too long. We live in a dangerous and changing world and we cannot have our country held hostage by these arsonists all the time. We have to have national goals beyond just enriching existing companies and giving provinces whatever they want.
Because honestly, we have to decide if we are an actual country or not. Devolved federalism may have worked in a previous context but it isn’t working anymore.
Just make an announcement that the high-speed train will be only on Ontario and the PQ will become pro high-speed train and complaints that QC isn’t included
